Fire Safety in High Rise Buildings
Following the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower in 2017, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has completed a joint- inspection of 500 residential high rises in Greater Manchester. Local authorities, housing associations, private sector landlords and residents have been working together to ensure the safety of everyone who lives in high rise buildings.
Ensuring fire safety for these residents is a key priority for Tameside Council. More information can be found on the

Recommendations for Landlords
The Grenfell Tower fire led to government recommending additional building safety checks for external cladding materials. Landlords and building owners are advised to make themselves familiar with these checks.
