From Monday 29th April 2024 the office opening times for the Housing Advice Service will be changing. The office will only be open on a Tuesday, Thursday 9am-12.30 and 1.30pm-4.30pm and a Friday 9am – 1pm
Outside of these times customers who require advice for themselves or someone else are able to use the online portal which can be found at: GMCA Housing Assistance Referral Portal (gm-ca.org) or ring 0161 342 2700
Tameside Housing Advice provides housing advice and assistance via telephone and email during our normal operating hours;
Monday to Wednesday: 9am – 5pm
Thursday: 9am - 4:30pm
Friday: 10am - 4pm

To report yourself or someone else at risk of being homeless to us:
- Complete our online form using the link below.
- In an emergency use the contact details below to refer someone at risk of being homeless.
- An Officer will contact you as soon as possible. Please only complete the online portal once to avoid duplication.
You have about 20 minutes to fill in each page of this form.

If you already open to the service, you will retain the same Case Officer and will receive a letter notifying you of new contact details.
DUTY TO REFER
By law certain public organisations must tell us about people who are:
- currently homeless
- at risk of becoming homeless in the next 56 days.
Before you can tell us about someone in either of these situations:
- they must give their consent for you to tell us about them, including their contact details, and
- they must have chosen Tameside Council as the housing authority they want to be referred to, and
- you must tell them they may still need to complete a homelessness application.
