Announcement: Tameside Library Service during national lockdown November 2020.

From Thursday 5 November Tameside Library buildings will be closed for general use and browsing - however online services, the order and collect services and the Home Library Service will continue. There will also be strictly managed access to public PCs in library buildings to assist with essential activity such as job applications, benefit claims and digital access to other public services.
For full details of revised current services and facilities, please see our Libraries homepage and social media for more details.

Please note that Open+ is not operating at the present time.

Open+ is a self-service function that increases the hours people can use our libraries. It has been designed after taking into account the hundreds of responses to the consultation process, and will affect all the borough’s libraries except for Tameside Central Library in Ashton.

The Open+ project means that weekly library opening hours will almost double, increasing from 276 to 495. This will give people greater choice in how and when they use the library service – they may prefer to visit during hours when staff are available or during the self-serve open+ hours for greater flexibility.

There will be lots more time to get online giving greater access to online services and longer opening times will make our libraries more inclusive as people who work unsocial hours will be able to use them more easily.
