Open+ is a self-access function that increases the hours people can use our libraries. It has been designed after taking into account the hundreds of responses to the consultation process, and operates at all the borough’s libraries except for Ashton Library.

Open+ allowed weekly library opening hours almost doubled from 276 to 495 to give people greater choice in how and when they use the library service – they may prefer to visit during hours when staff are available or during the self-access Open+ hours for greater flexibility.

Open+ allows library members who register for this service more time to get online giving greater access to online services and longer opening times will make our libraries more inclusive as people who work unsocial hours and are able to use them more easily.
