Public Notices on the premises

The notice is to be displayed on the premises for at least 28 days starting on the day after the application was submitted. It must be displayed, in all cases, prominently at or on the premises to which the application relates, where it can be read from the exterior of the premises. In the case of a premise covering an area of more than fifty metres square, a further notice in the same form, and subject to the same requirements, must be displayed every fifty metres along the external perimeter of the premises abutting any highway;

The notice must be

  • A4 size or larger
  • Pale blue Colour
  • Printed or typed in black minimum size 16 font   

Newspaper Notice

The Notice in the Local Newspaper must be published at least once during a period of 10 working days, starting the day after the application was made.


Example Notice

Your name is applying for the Grant of a Premises Licence for (Premises name and address) 

The Licence if granted is to enable the Following Activities to take Place: Sale of alcohol on the premises / Sale of alcohol off the premises / Provision of regulated entertainment / Provision of facilities for regulated entertainment/provision of late night refreshment. Delete Sections as appropriate

Days and times of licensed activities to be put here.  

Any person wishing to make representations in relation to this application may do so by writing to The Licensing Section, Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council, Tame Street Depot, Tame Street, Stalybridge, SK15 1STor by email at licensing@tameside.gov.uk

Representation may be made for 28 consecutive days from the date of this notice.

A copy of the application for the grant of the above licence is kept by The Licensing Section, Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council, Tame Street Depot, Tame Street, Stalybridge, SK15 1ST. The application can be viewed Monday to Friday - 10:00am – 12:00pm & 14:00pm – 16:00pm except bank holidays

It is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application the maximum fine for which a person is liable on summary conviction for making a false statement is a Level 5 fine on the standard scale.

Dated (the Date of this Notice must be the day after the application for the licence was correctly given to the Licensing Authority).
