As a rider of a bike in a park, public place or on open land you could commit one of a number of serious offences which could lead you to having your bike taken off you, your licence taken off you for a year and a large fine.

You may also commit other offences for causing harassment alarm or distress under Public Order Act.

Even if you believe you have the landowner's permission you and the landowner could face legal action.

The consequences of your actions are:

  • Large fine/imprisonment
  • Loss of motorcycle
  • Loss of licence
  • Injury to yourself or others
  • Unlimited civil claim


If you are bothered by off road motorcycles then please help us

Make it your business to help us to fight this ongoing problem

Can you:

  • Identify the culprits and owners of these motorcycles
  • Give as many details as you can in relation to the clothing and colour/make of motorcycle
  • Give time, date and location that this problem took place

If you are a parent do not buy a "field" bike without proper proof of ownership and don't forget the hidden costs:

  • The bike still has to be insured
  • Possible prosecution
  • Having the bike seized
  • Possible unlimited civil claims
