We offer a wide range of loan boxes that can be used with groups, schools, in care homes, hospitals, or just at home with family and friends.

Each box is packed with objects, information and activities, some that link to the National Curriculum and others that are perfect for reminiscence.

If you’re not sure which box is best for you, just give us a call.

Reminiscence Sessions

Reminiscence sessions are suitable for groups and organisations. Reminisce about days gone by. Enjoy the here and now. Using objects, photographs and documents from the museum service’s collections within a loan box, a facilitator can bring these topics to life for your group, rekindling memories and stimulating debate.

Please note: All Loan boxes need to be collected from and returned to Portland basin Museum. As these loan boxes are part of our handling collection, from time to time we may need to remove or replace some objects.

Dolly tup for Domestic loan box 

This box contains:
