Housing Need Assessment

A Tameside Housing Needs assessment is currently being carried out by consultants Arc4 on behalf of the Council.  This is an important piece of research into the future housing needs or everyone across the borough. This includes the need for different sizes and types of housing, and homes to buy and rent as well as the housing needs of older people and those with additional needs.

The Housing Need Assessment 2025 will provide a strong evidence base to help shape future planning and housing policy and development in Tameside.

It will contain a review of lots of new and existing (secondary) data, including:

• an analysis of the findings of a household survey
• consultation with key stakeholders
• an assessment of housing need and affordable housing requirements
• and an analysis of the housing needs of specific groups of people within our community.  

You may have received a letter asking you to complete the survey as this has been sent to 22,000 homes. However if you have not and would like to take part in the Household Survey, you can do so online using the following QR Code.

Please note that the closing date of the survey will be 10pm on Friday 29 August 2025.
