Citizenship Ceremonies
Under the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002 successful applicants will be expected to attend citizenship ceremonies. which will be held in your local community
If your application is successful you will be informed by the Home Office where your ceremony will be held. The heart of the citizenship ceremony will involve prospective citizens making an oath/affirmation to His Majesty the King and a pledge of loyalty to the United Kingdom after which a certificate will be presented. Upon receipt of your naturalisation certificate Tameside Register Office will be in contact with you to invite you to a ceremony.
Citizenship ceremonies will take place at a designated venue within the local authority area.
