Service Charter



We will:

  • Inspect all licensed premises in accordance with the Risk Rating programme
  • Ensure that all licensed vehicles are subject to annual inspection
  • Carry out 'vetting' (includes criminal record checks) of all prospective taxi/private hire drivers to ensure they are fit and proper.
  • Process all licence applications as speedily as possible and keep you advised of progress where appropriate
  • Undertake joint inspections with Greater Manchester Police, The Vehicle Inspectorate and other agencies to enforce vehicle licence conditions
  • Carry out monitoring to ensure unlicensed activities are identified and regulated through the application of the appropriate licence.
  • Respond to all service requests and complaints within 3 working days

You can help us by:

  • provide the necessary completed documentation in order to process licences and registrations with relevant payment
  • comply with the conditions applicable to their licence/registration and ensure any request by the Compliance Officers is promptly undertaken
  • provide reasonable access to licensed premises in order that inspections can be effectively undertaken
  • fully co-operate with the Compliance Officers in the course of any investigation
