Review of Urgent Care Provision in Tameside and Glossop

We Asked

Future arrangements for Urgent Care in Tameside & Glossop were the focus of a 12 week consultation undertaken between 1 November 2017 and 26 January 2018.

Respondents were asked for their views on relocating walk in access from its current location at Ashton Primary Care Centre to a proposed Urgent Treatment Centre at the hospital so that those attending can also access a range of diagnostics.

In addition, respondents were also provided with two options for where and when patients can book appointments at a Neighbourhood Care Hub which will provide extended, more local access to Primary Care services – increasing the availability of same day appointments in the evenings and at weekends.

  • Option one included Hubs in the North (Ashton Primary Care Centre), the South Hub (Hyde or Longdendale) and Glossop (Glossop Primary Care Centre)
  • Option two included Hubs in the North (Ashton Primary Care Centre), the South (Hyde or Longdendale), the East (Stalybridge, Dukinfield or Mossley), the West (Denton, Droylsden or Audenshaw) and Glossop (Glossop Primary Care Centre)

Option one had more weekend availability but less hubs, whereas option two had more hubs to access services from but less weekend availability.
