- KCSIE – Keeping Children Safe in Education 2021
Annually updated guidance from the DfE on good practice for safeguarding children and young people in education. It is essential that
everybody working in a school or college understands their safeguarding responsibilities. Governing bodies and proprietors should ensure that those staff who work directly with children read at least Part one of this guidance.
- Promoting the Education of Looked After and Previously Looked After Children
Statutory guidance for Local Authority Workers on their duties to promote the education of children who are or have been cared for. This is particularly relevant for social workers, IROs and Personal Advisors.

A DfE guide for school staff which outlines the difficulties faced by adopted and permanently placed children and support which is available.
- Promoting the Education with Children with a Social Worker
DfE guidance which outlines the new duties of Virtual Head Teachers in supporting young people with a social worker and highlights how the virtual school with work with partners to promote education for these young people.
