Signpost Newsletter Issue 62

The latest issue of the Signpost Newsletter is available in PDF format by clicking the image above.

Tameside's joint carers strategy consultation will run until the 30 December Link to External Website. We want to consult with as many Carers as possible to get your views.

At any time in your life you may be called upon to look after someone close to you that has become ill or disabled and can no longer cope on their own in the home.

As a Carer it will probably be expected of you to be the main provider of comfort and support to the person that needs your help. That can be a daunting prospect, particularly so if the care period is likely to be long term. For many thousands of people in Tameside this is already a reality.

But what will you do? How will you go about your caring role? What help is out there to support you and the person you care for? We hope the information on this website will go some way in satisfying those questions and easing the difficulties that lie ahead.

The information over on the left under "Related Links", will take you to a variety of information starting at the very beginning when you first realise you are a Carer. Follow the links and you'll find more information on specific issues, which we hope will be of use to you.

Remember, these are Carers web pages - your pages. So, if there's anything additional that you feel should be included or anything you'd like to enquire about, please contact us. We shall do our best to help you. Tameside Carers Centre is your central point of information and all our contact details are at the foot of this page.
