The Council’s accounts were subject to external audit by Grant Thornton UK LLP, 4 Hardman Square, Spinningfields, Manchester, M3 3EB. Members of the public and local government electors have certain rights in the audit process:

The audit of the accounts for the year ended 31 March 2014 has now been concluded.

The Statement of Accounts containing a copy of the auditor's certificate, will be open for inspection by any local government elector for the area of Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council from Wednesday 1 October 2014, until Tuesday 28 October 2014, at the Council Offices, Wellington Road, Ashton-under-Lyne between the hours of 8.30am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday and any such local government elector may take a copy thereof or extracts there from without payment.Copies of the Council's Statement of Accounts will be dispatched to any such local elector for the payment of £5.00 per copy.
