Weights and Measures - Fees and Charges

Weights and Measures Act 1985

Schedule of Fees and Charges, for Year Commencing April 2011

It is a statutory requirement of a Trading Standards Officer in his/her role as Inspector of Weights and Measures to test any weights or measuring equipment submitted to ensure its accuracy and construction. Provided those tests are satisfactory then the equipment can be stamped or sealed with the Inspectors personal stamp or number.

The test (pass or fail) attracts a fee and the Weights and Measures Authority sets this fee.

The list of fees that follows are those that applies for the financial year 1 April 2011 to the 31 March 2012.

Fees are now subject to VAT - please see below for further information.
