Community groups gathered for the annual Tameside Communities grant funding event

Tameside welcomed thousands of residents and visitors on Friday 29 May as the borough came alive for the much‑loved Whit Friday Brass Band Contests.

Inspectors have reported a “mixed but improving picture” for Tameside Adult Services following a recent assurance visit.

Residents, community groups and local partners are being encouraged to apply for funding to deliver neighbourhood improvements across Tameside, as the final round of the Pride in Place Impact Fund opens. The £1.5 million fund is aimed at improving community spaces and supporting long-term neighbourhood regeneration by March 2027.
