If you're planning an event in Tameside, you are required to complete a notification of event form at least 8 weeks prior to the event so that we can ensure that the relevant permissions are obtained.

Road Closures

To be considered for a road closure/restriction, you will need to submit an application for a temporary road closure form at least 6 weeks prior to the proposed event. This form should be included with your event notification. If you have any queries regarding temporary road closures, please contact streetworks@tameside.gov.uk

There is an administration fee of £32 to process your application. Once you have submitted your application, the Licensing Section will contact you to arrange payment.

 

Once you have submitted your notification and paid the fee, your notification and associated documents will be circulated to the relevant consultees. If any of the consultees have issues with your notification, they will contact you directly to discuss their concerns. If you do not hear anything within the next 28 days, you can assume that all consultees are happy with your notification and your event can go ahead as planned.

Tameside are supporting event organisers to hold a Smokefree Event. The aim of Smokefree Events is to de-normalise and reduce exposure of smoking behaviour for children and young people. Smokefree Events is about holding and branding your event as smokefree and politely and respectfully requesting visitors and members of the public do not smoke at the event, on site or insight of children and young people. You will be provided with a training/briefing session to support your staff/volunteers at the event as well as the Smokefree Events logo for Tameside, Smokefree Events t-shirts, stickers and posters.

 

Tameside has had lots of events made smokefree, with over 16,500 people attending a Smokefree Event in 2018. If you would like more information or would like to make your event a Smokefree Event please contact victoria.hamlett@tameside.gov.uk
