Bands, Choirs, and Ensembles

Our bands and ensembles are at the heart of what we do at TMS.

Rehearsing and performing in a group helps our students to develop vital musicianship skills, as well as promoting self-confidence and forming lasting friendships. All of our students are encouraged to join a band or ensemble as part of their ongoing learning and development.

Events and Performances

All of our students, from the very beginners to the more advanced, are encouraged to join an ensemble and are offered performance opportunities throughout the year.

As well as local performances around Tameside, we are pleased to offer our students opportunities to perform in venues such as Band on the Wall and the Stoller Hall, through our partnership with the Greater Manchester Music Hub.

In summer 2019, 40 TMS students and staff took part in our first international tour, performing three concerts as part of the Musique en Scene festival in the Loire Valley, France.
