A Neighbourhood Learning Circle is a highly interactive, participatory structure for organizing group work. The goal is to build, share, and express knowledge though a process of open dialogue and deep reflection around issues or problems with a focus on a shared outcome.

What is a Neighbourhood Learning Circle?

The Learning Circles are interactive, informative, community focused networking meetings, promoting change and improvement across each neighbourhood in Tameside. Agencies are invited to look at data analysis, work with other professionals in their neighbourhoods, sharing best practices and looking at issues we are currently facing to. The Learning Circle will focus on how we can work together to implement change using a multi-agency approach.

The Learning Circles take place in each neighbourhood twice a year to focus on local issues. We would like you to attend the learning circle specific to the area where you work, as you will have first-hand knowledge of the neighbourhood.

Who can attend the Learning Circle?

We have a variety of professionals attending The Neighbourhood Learning Circle.  All professionals and anyone working with children and families in Tameside are welcome and encouraged to attend as they are a good platform for agencies to have the opportunity to contribute to shaping things for the Neighbourhoods and also to gain updates of developments happening in Tameside.

What can I contribute to the Learning Circle?

The aim of the Learning Circles will be to identify key issues in your neighbourhood to explore strategies and outcomes.  We will be looking at issues that families and professionals are facing in their neighbourhood and every day life and using data to identify trends and causes. We believe everyone has the power to make change and this is your opportunity to learn about existing services available, current concerns in the local area and how, by working together and sharing resources, we can proactively and effectively make change.

Following this, the Neighbourhood Team and the Leads will aim to progress the outcomes from the Neighbourhood Learning Circles and ensure this develops the Early Help Strategy through multi-agency working and by networking.
