Planning Monitoring


Until relatively recently, every local planning authority has been required to produce an authority monitoring report (AMR) by the 31 December each year. However, under Section 113 of the Localism Act, monitoring work no longer needs to be published within a single document and instead it can be produced in a series of individual reports. Monitoring is an essential part of the planning cycle, helping to inform the review of planning policies, the effect that they are having and whether they need to be reviewed.
 
 The separate reports which collectively now comprise the Council’s activities for monitoring are as follows:
