In addition, the Gardens of Rest at Denton and Mottram cemeteries have been set aside specifically for the interment of cremated remains, with an inscribed stone memorial marking the place of burial.

Cut flowers may be placed in the vases provided surrounding the Garden of Remembrance.

Remembrance Room

The Remembrance Room, situated adjacent to the chapel in Dukinfield Cemetery, is open every day and contains the Book of Remembrance.

Further information regarding fees and charges in connection with inscriptions in the book of remembrance at Dukinfield Crematorium can be obtained from the Registrar's Office at the Crematorium.

Memorials

Denton Garden of RestListed below are details of the memorials which can be purchased if desired:-

  • The Book of Remembrance inscriptions are entered under the date of death and a page is turned daily so that the names appear annually on the anniversary day.
  • Memorial Cards bearing a copy of individual inscriptions are available as a personal memento.
  • Stone look plaques in remembrance room and Memorial plates are displayed on the memorial walls along the main driveway.
  • Benches can be purchased in memory of you loved one. These are specially made out of recycled material which make them less prone to damage or vandalism. A memorial plaque may be fixed to the bench and it will be bolted firmly into the ground. The Customer and Senior Registrar will agree the location of the bench prior to ordering. Every effort will be made to locate it as near to your loved ones resting place.

The annual memorial service, conducted by representatives of the local churches of all denominations, takes place on the second Sunday of September at 3.00pm in the crematorium chapel.

The Roman Catholic Church also hold Remembrance Services at Droylsden and Hyde Cemeteries during November. For more information and dates please contact the Cemetery Office at Dukinfield.

Further information regarding fees and charges in connection with the provision of plaques can be obtained from the Registrar's Office at the Crematorium.
