Tameside Libraries Readers' Groups

Announcement:Tameside Library Service during Covid-19 restrictions in force from 19 July 2021.

From Monday 19 July 2021 Tameside Library will be making important, positive changes to support the lifting of Covid19 restrictions. Many online services and digital events are continuing.
Please check for latest updates on the progress of these changes via our Libraries homepage and social media.

Do you love reading? Join one of Tameside Libraries Readers' Groups.

Members of the group all take copies of the same book to read each month and then meet to discuss it. Groups read a variety of genres over the year and can suggest titles.

  • Share your reading experiences
  • Read books you would never have thought of trying
  • Groups are informal, fun and free
  • No literary knowledge required
  • Not finished the book or didn’t like it? Still come along and tell us why!

New Virtual Readers' Group

Our Virtual Readers' Group currently meets once a month via Zoom. The group agrees a book to discuss that's available as an eBook and eAudiobook via BorrowBox.

If you would like to join the group please call us on 0161 342 2031 or email

Zoom is easy to use via the internet or by downloading the app. See our brief guide to using Zoom pdf or give us a call and we can explain how it works.

Our next meeting is on Monday 4 October 6-7pm

This month there is a choice of books to read for the meeting, either The Foundling by Stacey Halls OR The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah. Download and read or listen now from BorrowBox
