Learning and Improvement - Communication

TSCP will develop and disseminate messages of support and improvement across partner agencies to enhance their work in safeguarding children.

Safeguarding Practice Updates

Regular safeguarding updates are centred around current issues and developments in safeguarding. All professionals are invited to attend safeguarding practice updates and can be accessed using our online booking system, which is on the training section of the website.

Previous updates so far have explored the importance of effective assessment use in safeguarding practice.

7 minute briefings

7 minute briefings provide accessible and succinct guidance on important issues. The structure of the 7 minute briefings makes them easy to communicate in a team meeting.

The 7 minute briefing on Information Sharing highlights the crucial importance of appropriate information sharing to ensure effective interagency communication and risk management

Please visit the ‘Learning from Case Reviews’ section for the 7 minute briefings from serious case reviews.

Top ten tips

TSCP has also produced top ten tips on Respectful challenge; the importance of challenging both parents and professionals, in fulfilling their responsibilities in safeguarding a child’s welfare.

Working with Children with Disabilities

The Learning and Improvement Activity Group met on the 6th November to focus on developing resources for practitioners to use with children and young people that have disabilities. Despite being only the 2nd meeting of its kind the group has produced a Top 10 Tips for working with Children with disabilities and special educational needs, and also agreed that the Children with Disabilities Team (CWD) ‘Passport’ was useful resource which should be available for professionals to use. The tips and the passport are now available on the Learning and Improvement webpage where a new children with disabilities section has been created.

TSCP wants to design many more resources through the Learning and Improvement Activity Group but can only do it with the support of practitioners like you. If you would like to be involved please speak to your representative.
