Just like me?
If you’re a child or young person under the age of 18 then this section of the TSCP website is for you.
We’ve called this page ‘Just like me?’ because we want you to read the information and if any of it sounds just like what you’re going through;
- at home,
- at school,
- online,
- when you’re with your friends,
- when you’re with your boyfriend or girlfriend
then we want you to know that you can and should get help because it’s not right.
You have rights
Every child in the UK is entitled to a list of basic rights.
One of those rights is to be protected from abuse or exploitation and that’s what Tameside Safeguarding Children Partnership is all about. It’s our job to make sure that you are kept safe from harm.
Safe from Harm
We’re giving you the information below on the most common types of harm that children and young people suffer from. If when you read the information it sounds ‘just like me’ then you can ask for advice, ask for help or report it.
If you want to get help from people in Tameside then you can ring Tameside’s Public Service Hub for advice and support.
Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm on 0161 342 4101
Monday to Friday 5.00pm to 8.30 am, weekends and public holidays on 0161 342 2222
Or speak to somebody in your school, your GP, or youth worker.
In emergencies always ring 999
If you prefer to get help or support from somewhere else then there are lots of national charities and websites that specialise in different types of help. The links below will take you to those that we recommend.
