Reading Ahead - Six Book Challenge for Adults

Reading Ahead poster
Did you know that reading for pleasure can promote your health and wellbeing? It can also help to build relationships with others and social connections as well as help with educational achievement and career progression. Reading Ahead is open to any Tameside Libraries member who over the age of 16, and it's free to join if you're not already a member.

If you would like to improve your reading skills or expand your horizons why not try the Reading Ahead challenge? Choose six reads which can be books, magazines or anything you prefer and fill out a short review. We have a selection of Quick Reads and other easy reading titles and Library staff can help you choose something at the right level for you.

You can also use BorrowBox, our free eReading app to select an eBook, eAudiobook, eMagazine or eNewspaper to find something that interests you. BorrowBox has a dictionary and other accessibility tools that really help.

To get started just call in to any Tameside Library and ask for a Reading Ahead Diary and bookmark. Collect more goodies as you read your six titles and there will be a prize draw for all those who complete the challenge.
